The City and County of San Francisco has applied for the Department of Commerce’s Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP).

Broadband Technology Opportunity Program
This grant, which is administered by that National Telecommunications and Information Administration, is intended to provide access to broadband service in under served areas. San Francisco decided not to apply for this grant during the first cycle but has applied during the most recent funding cycle. The City’s application is still being reviewed and a decision on the application is expected by the end of September 2010.
