The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was signed into law by President Obama on February 17th, 2009. It is an unprecedented effort to jump-start the US economy, save and create millions of jobs, and overcome long-neglected challenges.
The Recovery Act has brought more than XXX million dollars to the City and County of San Francisco. This funding has enabled many important projects spanning education, the environment, human services, housing, public safety, and transportation. Over the past three years, Recovery Act funded projects have created more than XXX hours of work for San Franciscans. These important investments have helped our city to recover from the Great Recession while expanding services and making lasting improvements to our infrastructure.
While the vast majority of Recovery funding has already been invested in our local economy, many projects are still underway. To learn more about what the Recovery Act has meant for San Francisco, look through our Flickr galleries and learn about the projects organized by policy area.
